Getting Good HealthCare: Me and My Medical Records

flower with the words peace of mind

It’s important to acknowledge it is not always easy to get the healthcare we need and deserve! During this experiential interactive workshop, we will create space to share personal stories that highlight some of the skills and strategies that we have used to get our healthcare needs met. Getting Good Healthcare starts with connection- connection to self- and then investing in the relationship between patient and doctor which requires skill on both sides. In this online course, we will examine what makes a mutually respectful relationship and tools to develop that relationship. Explore how keeping and understanding our medical records is critical to that relationship and our ability to self-advocate with the medical system. That understanding how to effectively communicate with the doctor can lead to better outcomes and feeling like we are in a mutually respectful working relationship.

Learning Objectives:

· List 3 skills and strategies that we can use to get good healthcare

· Name 3 ways for starting conversations with providers.
