Taking Action for Whole Health and Wellbeing

This program leads people through a process of exploration to discover what they need, want, and can do to support their own well-being and recovery. It is based on SAMHSA's “Action Planning for Prevention and Recovery” booklet and other SAMHSA materials. Various research studies support this kind of approach to mental health recovery, addiction recovery, and wellness. The workshop also lays a broad foundation for building increased wellness in the workforce that is based on mutual support. 
 

This course meets a prerequisite for being trained as a Copeland Center Certified Co-Facilitator and is based on the fidelity measures of an evidence-based practice. 

Essential Elements covered:

·      Recovery, wellness, self-care, self-compassion, and action orientation

·      Focus on self-esteem, connection, hope, empowerment, self-determination, education, community inclusion and self-advocacy

·      Building a Strong Support System

·      Personal and Community Resources

·      Wellness tools, skills, and strategies for whole health and wellbeing

·      Physical Health and the effects of exercise, nutrition, light, sleep, and smoking

·      Finalizing Wellness Tools: Spirituality, Complementary, Controversial, Alternative and Additional tools

·      Developing Action Plans for Triggers, Early Warning Signs, Difficult Times

·      Healthcare and medications

·      Crisis Planning and Advanced Directives

·      Post Crisis and Post Relapse planning

·       Wellness Topic: Employment, Meaningful Activity, Motivation and Lifestyle

•      Identify foundational concepts to build personal resiliency and facilitate wellbeing.
•      Apply personal wellness tools related to whole health and wellbeing.
•      Develop wellness tools and personalized strategies for action planning for whole health and wellbeing.
