The Future of Peer Supervision Is in Our Hands
Quality supervision is the foundation of effective peer support. It honors lived experience, fosters accountability, and helps peer support specialists grow in their roles while staying true to their values. As our workforce expands and becomes more visible, the need for intentional, supportive supervision is more urgent than ever.
With the dissolution of the National Association of Peer Supporters (NAPS), we face the loss of vital tools and guidance that have shaped our field — but this is not the end of the story. The Copeland Center is stepping in to help preserve and protect the wisdom NAPS has built, especially in the area of peer supervision. We are committed to safeguarding these resources and ensuring they continue to empower supervisors and peer workers across the country.
Together, we can carry this work forward. We can protect what matters. We can ensure that peer support supervision continues to reflect our values: mutuality, connection, recovery, and the power of lived experience.
This is a moment of transformation, not loss. Join us as we save what has been built and continue growing what’s possible.
