The CAPRC I is non-renewal as credential holders are expected to transition to the CAPRC II within the two-year validity of the CAPRC I.

There is a review process by ICAADA for training approval to be accepted for educational hours for all credentials.

Indiana continues to develop the professional recovery support landscape through offering Department of Labor apprenticeships, access to workforce development up-skilling, and credentials being recognized as 'Industry Promoted Certifications' through the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. ICAADA also continues to build the recovery support workforce within the Indiana Department of Corrections by training/certifying currently incarcerated individuals to become CAPRCs and deliver services to other currently incarcerated individuals in IDOC facilities.
