Meet the Board: Terry Rumsey
Terry Rumsey has devoted more than 50 years of his life to advocating for peace and social justice and to empowering and organizing our society’s most disenfranchised and stigmatized communities and individuals. Terry is a person with lived experience with episodic depression. Since 2000, he has been a part of the national civil rights movement for people in recovery from life disruptions rooted in mental health and substance use challenges.
Terry has been a contributor to the peer empowerment movement demanding a meaningful voice for peers in local, state, and national health and wellness services and systems.
Terry is the President of Green Seeds, a fundraising development company based in Media, Pennsylvania. Over the past 20 years, Terry and Green Seeds have helped small, medium-sized, and large nonprofit organizations raise tens of millions of dollars to organize, mobilize, and serve the most vulnerable folks in our society. Terry has helped national, statewide, and local peer-run organizations raise the money required to start and sustain peer-led advocacy movements and service programs.
