Meet the Advisory Council: Lisa Matthews

Lisa Matthews is a nonprofit leader, grants and compliance professional, and dedicated community advocate with extensive experience in nonprofit management, financial oversight, grant administration, governance, and organizational compliance. Throughout her career, she has worked to strengthen organizations and support initiatives that foster civic engagement, community connection, and meaningful social impact.

Lisa has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to public service, disability advocacy, and community leadership. She currently serves as Co-Chair of the Network Development Committee for the Sibling Leadership Network and previously served as Vice Chair of its Board of Directors. She is also a member of the Development Committee for Quality Trust for Individuals with Disabilities and a former member of the Human Rights Committee for The Arc of Prince George's County.

Her leadership experience includes serving as Chair of the District of Columbia Developmental Disabilities Council and as a Commissioner with Serve DC, the Mayor's Office on Volunteerism and Partnerships. Through these roles, Lisa has championed inclusion, civic participation, self-advocacy, and opportunities for individuals with disabilities, their families, and their communities.

Known for her collaborative leadership style, strategic thinking, and dedication to service, Lisa brings a unique blend of operational expertise and community engagement to every role she undertakes. She is passionate about strengthening nonprofit organizations, empowering individuals and families, and building stronger, more connected communities through service, advocacy, and civic engagement.
