Meet the Advisory Council: Ann Marie Webb
Ann Marie Webb earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from West Virginia University in 2010. She began her career through an internship with the Worcester County Drug Court in Worcester County, Maryland. She later worked as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) in Winchester, Virginia, providing services to children and adults living with mental health conditions and traumatic brain injuries (TBIs).
Ann Marie then joined the Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice, where she served for 11 years. Throughout her tenure, she collaborated closely with community partners and service providers to ensure youth and families had access to a full continuum of care, including residential treatment, outpatient services, and substance use programs. She also represented her unit on the Family Assessment and Planning Team, supporting access to Child Services Act funding.
Her professional training includes Crisis Intervention Team (CIT), Youth and Adult Mental Health First Aid, and Effective Practices in Community Supervision (EPICS), an evidence-based model developed by University of Cincinnati to promote behavior change and reduce recidivism. During her time with the Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice, Ann Marie received 11 awards recognizing her outstanding contributions and leadership. She worked extensively with law enforcement agencies and community partners to develop an intensive, family-centered outpatient substance use program and create effective training initiatives focused on supporting youth in community settings.
In November 2022, Ann Marie joined the North Carolina Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Use Services as a Community Engagement Specialist. She currently serves as the Peer Support and Crisis Intervention Team (CIT), Team Lead, where she helps advance statewide initiatives that strengthen behavioral health services, peer support, and community partnerships.
Ann Marie brings both professional expertise and personal and family lived experience to her work, providing a unique perspective that informs her commitment to improving outcomes for individuals, families, and communities.
