Conference Proposal Deadline March 15!

The Copeland Center is soliciting proposals for the first international WRAP Around the World Conference.

Everyone who uses WRAP or supports others who use WRAP is invited to apply. We are looking for presentations in the following categories.

  • Understanding the ethics and values of WRAP;
  • Ensuring fidelity to the original principles;
  • Disseminating the scientific research;
  • Promoting best practices in training program facilitators;
  • Promoting best practices in program implementation;
  • Incorporating WRAP into formal systems of care;
  • Developing and replicating non-profit and for-profit business models;
  • Application of WRAP to specific perspectives (children, family members, military veterans, people with other health issues, and more;
  • Living WRAP: strategies for helping people implement WRAP in their everyday lives.

Refresher Credit for Conference Attendees

The WRAP Around The World Conference includes Certificate opportunities for Developing Your WRAP, WRAP Facilitator Refresher, Advanced Level Refresher and System Leaders:

For:

1. Everyone: Through attendance in a full day Developing Your WRAP Institute and two days of conference workshops you will have the knowledge of the evidence based practice of the Wellness Recovery Action Plan, begin to develop and implement WRAP for yourself and meet the pre-requisite for WRAP Facilitator training.

2. WRAP Facilitators: Through attendance in a full day WRAP Facilitator Refresher Institute and two days of the conference you will have up to date knowledge and skills for WRAP facilitation, be listed with the Copeland Center as a current WRAP Facilitator in your area and meet the minimum requirements for maintain your WRAP Facilitator certificate.

3. Advanced Level WRAP Facilitator:  Through attendance in a full day Advanced Level WRAP Facilitator Refresher Institute and two days of the conference you will have up to date knowledge and skills for conducting the WRAP facilitator Course, be listed with the Copeland Center as a current Advanced Level WRAP Facilitator in your area and meet the minimum requirements for maintain your current certification.

4. Mental Health Systems Leaders: Through attendance in a full day Institute for WRAP Systems Leaders and two days of the conference you will have the knowledge and ability to implement and supervise quality and evidenced based approaches to Wellness Recovery Action Plan Facilitation at a systemic level.

Carol Bailey Floyd is the Director of Programs for Mental Health Recovery and WRAP and has facilitated WRAP since 2003. Carol is the WRAP Consultant and Trainer for the Ohio Empowerment Coalition. When the University of Illinois at Chicago conducted their WRAP Research Project, Carol was the Project Coordinator. As a DBSA (Depression Bipolar Support Alliance) facilitator, Carol has been involved for many years with their support groups and leadership activities. She is the founder of the Laughing Club of N.E. Ohio.

-2 The Copeland Center trained Advanced Level WRAP Facilitators Debra Bradley and Christopher Stone in Louisiana. Bradley and Stone worked with International WRAP Mentor, Sarah Brown, on their first WRAP Facilitator Training in Shreveport, LA.

The Copeland Center works with Advanced Level WRAP Facilitators to increase their skills at training WRAP Facilitators making WRAP more accessible across the US and the world.
