The Conference will offer caucuses, open ended conversations on the following topics for any participant who is interested. These conversations will be facilitated by recovery educators who have extensive experience working on each topic. This is a time to network, talk about opportunities and challenges, and connect with others interested in these topics.
Title: Peer Support and WRAP Practices
Facilitator: Eric Larson
Description: Through participation in this caucus participants will
1. Discuss Best Practices for implementing WRAP into Peer Support Initiatives around the World
2. Explore the benefits and challenges of agency and grassroots initiatives
3. Explore ongoing WRAP Support Group practices
4. Explore 1:1 WRAP peer support mentoring practices and techniques
5. Networking practices
6. Exploring the notion of WRAP Burnout and how to reinvigorate groups
Title: WRAP in the World of Transition Age Youth
Facilitators: John Woodruff and John Moody
Description: Join the international discussion about WRAP groups with Transition Age Youth . What part can WRAP play in helping young people move through adolescence to adulthood—educationally, emotionally, physically and as responsible individuals within society? What is happening around the world? We want to hear from you. This caucus is moderated by John Moody from Scotland and John Woodruff from the California in the US.
Title: Teen WRAP
Facilitator: Carol Bailey Floyd
Description: Join a discussion oriented teenagers using WRAP. This caucus would be an open discussion of current initiatives, proposed initiatives, ideas for approaches with teens, how to engage parents, how to get buy-in from mental health professionals, funding, and many other topics related to teens. Interested participants are encouraged to bring handouts from any previous or current teen WRAP programs.
Title: Addictions Recovery and WRAP
Facilitator: Debbie Andersen
Description: An opportunity for discussion about WRAP and addictions recovery as well as support for our personal use of WRAP for addictions, substance use and lifestyle change. Depending on interest, the discussion may include facilitating WRAP in a “co-occurring disorders” program, weaving abstinence into a WRAP, and/or supporting lifestyle change through WRAP. What is working for you? What have you discovered and what are you curious about? Please join the conversation and bring your experience, strength and hope.
Title: Trauma-Informed Care
Facilitator: Cheryl Sharp
Description: This caucus will generate a robust discussion around the issues related to those of us who have experienced adverse childhood events as well as the trauma that often comes with being involved in a non trauma-informed system of care. WRAP being the truly adaptable and organic tool that it is very easily lends itself to healing old wounds and creating new ways of living life without ghosts from the past continuing to haunt us. Participants will share tools they have used to move forward in their lives. As with all WRAP classes and events, this is not a therapy session but an opportunity to share our successes and to ask questions regarding our challenges.

Title: Aspects Cultural Diversity in Wellness Recovery Action Plan Facilitation

Description: This caucus is to bring to the forefront our ideas and thoughts around Cultural Diversity and how it affects our WRAP workshops, groups and classes. This is a discussion that emerges often at WRAP Facilitators workshops because it is always present. It’s about having a conversation and discussing how we as individuals define Cultural Diversity and how the society around us, and where we are working define this concept. This is an area that can really help heal allot of the discomfort in a room of very diverse people. Let’s have this conversation and experience the outcome together.
Title: Sex and Intimacy in Wellness and Recovery
Facilitator: Audrey Garfield
Description: Sex and intimacy is an integral part of an person’s well-being. it is also a subject that is relatively unexplored, sometimes uncomfortable, and rarely part of the discussion between people in recovery and their health care providers. this will be a candid discussion on sex and intimacy as it relates to wellness. participants will examine barriers and strategies for supporting sexual health in our service to people in mental health recovery.
